4 Tips for Promoting Your Book Online
by Marnie Pehrson
Whether you're published in print or electronically, there are effective, low-cost ways to promote your books and ebooks online. Here are some ideas that will get your masterpiece the online exposure it deserves.
Post Reviews
Get someone you know to write a review of your book for you and then post it to sites like www.IdeaMarketers.com or send it to sites that reach your target audience for consideration as content. Also if your book is on Amazon or BarnesandNoble.com, have people post their reviews there.
When people purchase your book, send them a thank you note and send them a link for where they can go on Amazon or BarnesandNoble to submit a review for your book. You can even link to these pages from your Web site and suggest people submit a review.
Post Excerpts as Articles
Post an approved excerpt of your book as an article on sites like http://www.IdeaMarketers.com . You can also submit the excerpt and details on how to order the book as an article to ezines and web sites that match your audience.
Bundle Your Book with Consulting
When someone hires you to consult them, give them your book as a free bonus. Or if you have a more expensive book or manual, offer a specified amount of free email consulting along with the book or manual.
Donate for Contests
Approach sites that run contests who reach your ideal audience and offer them a free book to giveaway in their next contest. Make sure that the site promotes the contest in their newsletters and throughout their site so you get maximum exposure.
