Did you know that God actually wants you to be successful? That he actually wants you to lay aside your fears and be bold in the pursuit of your worthwhile goals? Did you know he told us how? Bear with me a moment and let me explain...

Jesus taught us that when someone hit us on the cheek, we should turn the other one for him to strike as well. He said if someone sued you for your coat, you should give him your cloak also. If he compelled you to go with him a mile, you should go with him two miles. He taught us to 'Love your enemies, bless those that curse you, do good to them that hate you and pray for them which despitefully use you and persecute you.'

Then and only then can we be like our Father in heaven. 'For he makes his sun to rise on the evil and on the good and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.' If we only love those that love us, what reward have we? Even the wicked do this. 'Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.' Perfect in what? We're mortals; we can't be perfect. Perfect in love. Unconditional love is what Jesus is commanding us to have. (Taken from Matthew 5:38-48)

Why? What's so important about love? Love is the answer to all of society's problems. It is the cure for every heartache, every pain, and every lost dream that a human soul can experience. Why? Because at the root of every heartache, every pain, every loss is fear. Fear halts more people in their progress than any single factor. Fear of our enemies, fear of failure, fear of success, fear of dying, or even fear of living are Satan's tools in stopping us from reaching our full God-given potential and mission here on earth.

Want to cure fear in your life? Want to be bold and dare to dream and dare to reach your full potential? Do you want to 'be perfect like your Father in heaven is perfect?' I John 4:17-18 explains, 'Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the Day of Judgment; because as he is so are we in this world. There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear; because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.'

Love eradicates fear! It makes us bold. We no longer fear what other people can do to us. Can you fear an enemy that you love? Can you fear failure when you have enough confidence and love of yourself that you know no matter what happens you're still a valuable individual in the sight of God. Can you fear death, when you truly love and understand God?

But how do we obtain this love? Through service. Paul taught the Galations, 'By love serve one another. For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this: Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.' (Galations 5:13-14)

Richard G Scott gave probably the best explanation of this that I've ever heard in his address, 'The Power to Make a Difference' given October 1983. 'I am convinced that when we give unconditional love; when our interest is first in serving, building, edifying, strengthening without thought of self; when we do not expect an automatic return for each act of kindness, generosity, or sincere effort to help; when we are not concerned about what we will receive or what others will say or whether our own burdens will be diminished, but selflessly seek to build another, the miracle of the power of the gospel is released in our lives. When we permit the Lord to work through us to bless others, that sacred experience releases power in our own lives, and miracles occur. Well did the Master say, 'Inasmuch as ye do it unto the least of these, ye do it unto me.' (Matthew 25:40)

'Respect and love must be earned, and there is no better way to earn them than to lift another.'

'Begin now with your best effort. Reach out to another. You will feel the power of the Lord flow through you. Your own self-respect will return, and you can love yourself again. Your life will be enriched and given purpose, and you will be given the power to make a difference in everything around you. Of this I testify...'

I add my testimony of this truth to his. Live to serve others and you will be filled with the pure love of Christ. It will transform your life. When you wake up each morning, get down on your knees and ask the Lord to guide you to those whom you can serve and love. Ask him to help you know how to help others throughout the day. When you pray this with sincerity of heart, you'll be amazed at the opportunities that arise and the joy you feel as you have the pleasure of serving others. Do this day after day and soon you will stand in wonder at the transformation that has taken place in your own life. You will be bold and fearless in the cause of truth. And you will be an instrument in the hands of God to build and uplift everything and everyone around you.
